Waipuna Hospice provides specialist medical and nursing care to patients in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty with a chronic life ending illness such as cancer, motor neurone disease, chronic heart / kidney / liver or respiratory failure. The majority of patients are cared for in their own home through our Hospice at Home service. Our Day Services Clinic is for newly referred and the more active, independent patients whilst the Inpatient Unit provides short term admissions for respite care, symptom control, pain management and in some cases end-of-life care.
We also offer a range of support services to patients and their families including specialist equipment, family support, therapeutic and lymphoedema massage, bereavement counselling, chaplaincy, social work, advocacy and education.

Hospice EBOP services are provided in the Eastern Bay of Plenty region, which includes the Whakatane, Opotiki and Kawerau districts. Patients are visited in their own homes or place of residence.
Hospice EBOP services include: Specialist palliative care nursing support – on-call 24/7, day care programmes, grief & bereavement counseling and support, volunteer family support, volunteer biography service, specialist equipment loan, coordination of fully funded palliative care beds, patient & whanau Information, education for generalists.
