Our good friends at Dilmah are donating 50c cents from selected packs of the new Dilmah Pure Ceylon Green Tea range to Hospice NZ, to help raise awareness of hospice services throughout the country. Please purchase a specially-marked pack, available now at all good supermarkets. 40,000 packs of tea will raise $20,000 - so do try it!
Since 1997, Dilmah has donated all the tea each hospice service in New Zealand could possibly need each year. This generous donation means hospices are able to provide the world’s finest tea to people in the care of hospice and their families, friends and visitors, to volunteers and staff.
The process of making a cup of tea and the comforting conversations that can occur over a hot cup of tea, can be relaxing and therapeutic, no matter the time of day or night. This is at the very heart of Dilmah, and also its founder, Merrill J. Fernando.
More than 5.5 million teabags have been donated over the years – a testament to the commitment the entire Fernando family has to hospices throughout New Zealand. In terms of a dollar value, Dilmah’s support has saved hospices throughout the country over $350,000 over the past 19 years - supporting us in our work providing care for people with a life limiting condition, free of charge.
Please support this generous family-owned company and support hospice by purchasing any of the specially marked Dilmah Pure Ceylon Green Tea packs - on shelves now in all good supermarkets.
