Since 1997 Dilmah has donated all the tea each hospice service in New Zealand could need each and every year. Due to this generous donation, we are able to make the highest quality tea available to people in hospice care and their families, friends and visitors, and staff and volunteers.
The process of making a cup of tea, and the comforting conversations that can occur over a hot cuppa can be relaxing and therapeutic, no matter the time of day or night.
More than 5 million teabags have been donated over the years – a testament to the commitment the entire Fernando family has to hospice in New Zealand.
In terms of a dollar value, this donation has saved hospices throughout the country over $350,000 over the past 19 years - supporting us in our work providing care for people with a life limiting condition, totally free of charge.
Dilmah also donates a sizeable amount to Hospice NZ every second year through their onpack promotion, which sees a 50 cents from each pack of their green tea range being donated directly to support our work nationally.
